Nestled in the scenic country location of Tauranga, New Zealand, is the Majacraft factory. We are an innovative company, constantly seeking to improve our range of spinning wheels in an effort to enhance your spinning experience. The lovely surroundings and excellent company make Majacraft a very pleasurable place to work.

Owen Poad
Glynis Poad

We currently have seven people involved in the business. Owen and Glynis Poad are the company directors and have owned Majacraft since 1995. Owen spends much of his time turning drive wheels. His experience in spinning and engineering is very valuable in the design of new wheels. Glynis takes care of the office and being in contact with our dealers and customers.

Rob Edwards-Poad
Andy Poad

Their sons Rob and Andrew are also heavily involved in the operation of Majacraft. Rob is the production manager and has many practical skills that make him an invaluable asset to Majacraft. Andrew has a background in IT and spends time doing many of the computer related jobs as well as building things in the workshop whenever he can.

Ellen Gray

Ellen Gray came knocking on our door several years ago looking for work and has been here ever since. She packs all of our wheels and is very careful and conscientous about her job. Nothing gets past Ellen's sharp eyes! In addition to being the overseer of our final quality control, Ellen also does many woodworking and sanding jobs around the workshop.

Barry Kane (Bas) came to help us out of Fridays for a while and he was so great we didn't want to let him go. His wealth of knowledge and skills in development, prototyping, jigs and coaching are fantastic. He always has a joke to share and is a very valuable part of our team.

Lance Hemmingway is the most recent addition to our team. While new to our workshop he has actually been working on Majacraft wheels for the last 16 years. Lance was the foreman at our component supplier before deciding he was ready for a change of scene. Seeing the opportunity, we snapped him up as soon as we could. We are very grateful to have Lance with us and look forward to what he can add to Majacraft products and processes.

Andrea O'Brien is the point of contact for most people with Majacraft. She takes care of the office and liasing with the public. She also comes and helps in the workshop whenever she can. Andrea and her husband have been friends of our family for many years and takes time out from raising her son Isaac to work at Majacraft.
