GRINSHEEP FIBRE PRODUCTIONS

My husband and I have lived in this community all our married lives. We have lived on our farm for the past 28 years. We were the first certified organic farm in Oceanside District on Vancouver Island(.We have since let the certification go.) It was through this that we came to own a pair of bred Southdown ewes as pets for our daughters. That was 23 years ago.Now I keep a flock of 24 crossbreds for the fleece and colour I want and have been a spinner for 22 years. I have the sheep, I have the shop and I belong to a wonderful community of spinners, weavers, knitters and other fibre artists.

Grinsheep Fibre Productions is proud to be the sponsor of the Oceanside 4H Fibre Arts Club that meets here once a month. Tuesday afternoon isrigid heddle weaving class. Wednesday mornings we are host to a group of spinners, weavers, tapestry artists, felters, and knitters. We have a lot of fun experimenting with fibre. My daughter, Marion Vandal comes up from Victoria once a month to teach felting classes. The shop has a great selection of both imported and local fibre.

We try to be open from 1 pm to 5:30 pm-Monday to Friday, but life happens. We are a working farm after all. We are also happy to open by appointment for you at other times. We are centrally located on Vancouver Island in Errington, BC, V0R1V0, just 5 minutes outside the city of Parksville.
